ThorChain lets you swap BTC, ETH, and other native assets directly — no bridges, no wrapping.
ThorChain is a decentralized liquidity protocol that enables trustless, native cross-chain swaps. It uses liquidity pools paired with RUNE, the native token, and a network of validators to settle swaps directly on each blockchain — no wrapped tokens, no bridges required.
ThorChain supports native Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Binance Coin (BNB), Avalanche (AVAX), Cosmos (ATOM), Dogecoin (DOGE), and many more. The protocol continues to expand supported chains over time.
ThorChain is fully non-custodial — you retain control of your private keys and assets throughout the entire swap process. The protocol is open-source and audited. As with any DeFi protocol, users should assess risks before participating.
RUNE is the native settlement asset of the ThorChain network. It is used as the base pair in all liquidity pools, for paying swap fees, for node bonding (network security), and for governance. Every pool is a 50/50 pairing of a native asset and RUNE.
Swap times on ThorChain depend on the confirmation requirements of the source and destination blockchains. Fast chains like BNB Chain settle quickly, while Bitcoin swaps may take longer due to block times. Most swaps complete within a few minutes to under an hour.
